Ramsdale reacts after seeing Eddie Nketiah's FA Cup display for Arsenal

Arsenal made sure they reached the fourth round of the FA Cup with a resounding second-half performance against Oxford last night.

A Mohamed Elneny header and brace from Eddie Nketiah secured their place in the next round.

Nketiah once again displayed his brilliant finishing ability in front of goal in the FA Cup last night.

His first goal saw him round the keeper after a well-timed run, slotting home into the empty net.

The 23-year-old’s dinked finish rounded off the evening for the Gunners at Oxford.

There’s a lot of pressure on Nketiah to step up in the absence of Gabriel Jesus.

The Brazilian picked up a serious injury at the World Cup, and is set to be unavailable for months.

Arsenal are in the market for another attacker, however, Nketiah looks set to be the club’s only natural centre-forward.

With Joao Felix now set to join Chelsea, the pressure is on Edu and co. to secure a deal to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk from Shakhtar.

Nketiah impresses in the FA Cup

Taking to Instagram after the match, Nketiah posted a picture of him celebrating with the caption, “All gas, no brakes!”.

A number of Nketiah’s teammates replied, including Aaron Ramsdale, who replied with a reference to his trademark celebration.

The goalkeeper said, “When it rings”, as Nketiah leant on the corner flag with his hand to his ear.

Ramsdale was completely rested yesterday, as he prepares for the trip to Tottenham in the North London Derby on Sunday.

Nketiah will need to carry his form from the FA Cup into the match too if Arsenal are to continue their unlikely title challenge.

Arteta certainly has a lot of faith in the 23-year-old, and will have been very impressed with his recent performances.

Arsenal’s overall levels haven’t dropped since losing Jesus to injury, thanks in part to Nketiah.

The young forward has hit the ground running, and shown he’s not just a poacher.

A trip to The Etihad in the next round will prove to be a much tougher challenge.
