Aaron Ramsdale claims Arsenal teammate Elneny is a strange character
Gunners fans will not be surprised to hear Ramsdale praise Elneny. The Egyptian is not someone who grabs many of the headlines in the Arsenal squad. But you certainly get the sense that he is someone Mikel Arteta values hugely.
And it said a lot about the midfielder that he signed a new deal earlier this year despite really struggling for game-time last season.
Elneny is a strange character
Elneny has his limitations on the pitch. But actually, he probably does not get the credit he deserves for how well he often plays when coming into the side off the back of little game-time.
Crouch asked Ramsdale what kind of character the 30-year-old is. And the goalkeeper went on to laud him and what he brings to the Gunners’ squad.
“Strange! He’s one of the nicest men I’ve ever met in my life, he doesn’t have a bad bone in his body, dress sense is horrendous. But he is also the type of person you need in the dressing room,” he told Crouch on Around The Block.
Elneny is such a valuable player for Arsenal. Considering how much he plays, some may expect to hear him moaning about his game-time.
And with that, he often makes the absolute most of his opportunity when it comes his way. That can only help push those who do tend to start week-in, week-out.
