‘Oh come on’: Aaron Ramsdale dodges the question when asked to pick between two Arsenal players

Aaron Ramsdale is one of Arsenal’s more popular players right now and he’s been giving another fun interview to ESPN during the World Cup.

The impressive young goalkeeper has been integral in Arsenal’s turnaround under Mikel Arteta. Since signing from Sheffield United for around £30m, Ramsdale has made the number one spot his own. Indeed, his form even forced Bernd Leno to look for another club.

That form, naturally, has seen him called up to England and he’s currently over in Qatar as back up to Jordan Pickford.

However, closer to home with Arsenal is where he’s really comfortable. And when pressed on a number of quick fire questions for ESPN, Ramsdale had some trouble when it came to picking between Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka.

“Oh come on man. Erm, Eddie Nketiah??,” Ramsdale said.

Saka has become a key cog for both Arsenal and England. He’s started both games in the World Cup and scored twice in the 6-2 hammering of Iran as well.

Smith Rowe, meanwhile, is fighting his way back from injury. He is hoping to be back fit after the tournament, giving Mikel Arteta a fresh option in attacking areas.

For now, it seems Ramsdale has done a good job of keeping both his Arsenal teammates in the good books.

Poor old Ramsdale was thrown in at the deep end with this interview. Some of the quick fire questions were absolute stinkers and he did well to worm his way out of this one.

If we had to choose one, we’d go with Saka. Purely based on how good he’s been for England and Arsenal and the consistency he’s shown recently.

Arsenal are lucky to have both though. As they’re equally lucky to have Ramsdale as well. The future is bright for the Gunners, and this mini insight into their team spirit is nice to see.
