Stand-in Aston Villa manager, Aaron Danks, has made two huge calls and has dropped John McGinn and Jacob Ramsey for the game with Brentford.
The Telegraph reports this evening how the pair – who were key under Steven Gerrard – have been left out by Danks ahead of the clash with the Bees. It’s a big and bold call from Danks, who is clearly keen to make his mark during the short amount of time he might have in charge.
Danks has been placed at the helm while Villa look for a new manager. A whole host of candidates are in the frame, including former Chelsea and Tottenham boss Andres Villas Boas.

It’s claimed that Danks is looking to tear up some elements of the Gerrard plan and he is hopeful of seeing some sort of response from the Villa players tomorrow. After being hammered at Fulham in midweek, Villa’s players can have few complaints over changes being made.
McGinn was made captain by Gerrard in one of the more controversial calls of his tenure, while Ramsey has developed into a key man for the club in recent months.
TBR’s View: McGinn Had This Coming At Villa
If the results are so poor like they have been, then players are going to be dropped and John McGinn is among a cluster of players who have been below par.
For Danks, this is a big call from a temporary manager who will be looking to get a response from the team. Whether or not it goes down well, remains to be seen.
Villa seem in complete disarray in all honesty and Brentford must be licking their lips at the thought of playing them on Sunday.
