Picking up a serious injury is every young footballer’s worst nightmare.
The Romanian midfielder has suffered cruciate injuries in both knees, and spent well over a year on the side lines.
Thankfully, Cirjan has returned to action this season, making a brief cameo off the bench for Arsenal’s under-21s.

The 19-year-old has revealed how much support he received from his Arsenal teammates.
One of the players who looked out for Cirjan was French international Alexandre Lacazette.
Cirjan has revealed that Lacazette messaged him a few days ago to check up on his about his injury.
Lacazette messaged Cirjan about his injury
Asked about Lacazette’s message, Cirjan said: “(Alexandre) Lacazette messaged me a few days ago as well.
“He saw me working in the gym and he was like, ‘I’m so happy for you. Just keep going’.”
It’s a sign of the senior professional Lacazette is that he’s still checking on Cirjan.
Lacazette suffered a knee injury in his first season at Arsenal that required surgery, although it wasn’t as serious as Cirjan’s.
The 31-year-old forward has always had an eye on the younger talent at Arsenal.

He told Folarin Balogun last season that he should go on loan to Ligue 1.
It appears to have been the right call from Lacazette, as Balogun is flourishing in France this season.
Cirjan will be hoping he can start to play more and more minutes soon.
He was training with Mikel Arteta’s first team before his latest injury, and will want to be back with the senior squad again.
It’s no surprise Lacazette messaged Cirjan to check up on his injury, and he’ll be keeping a close eye on his progress this season.
