Jamie Carragher has now been heavily praising a player who controversially chose to leave Tottenham Hotspur last summer.
Ange Postecoglou’s start to life at the club was made a lot harder by the ‘will he, won’t he’ Harry Kane saga which dominated his first few months.

And with Kane ultimately succeeding in his wish to join Bayern Munich, Postecoglou was then able to properly start his new era on a fresh slate.
Moreover, as preposterous as it may sound, perhaps that changing of the guard did actually help the new Spurs boss eventually get his message across more efficiently.
Postecoglou inherited a squad ready to change and soak up his new ideas, especially given there was so much new responsibility on offer.
That being said, Jamie Carragher certainly doesn’t think Kane made a mistake either, when choosing to leave Tottenham last summer.
And when speaking to the forward after his goals for Bayern in the Champions League last night, Carragher said he was so proud of what Kane was now doing in Germany.
Jamie Carragher celebrates Harry Kane’s success after leaving Tottenham last summer
Carragher was interviewing Kane for CBS Sports and the forward did admit that learning the German language was proving a little bit harder than continuing to score goals.
Kane said: “I’m learning! But it’s tough, it’s really tough. I’m trying to speak to the boys as much as possible and just listen when I can but it’s going to take me a while.”

Carragher replied “Harry, you can score goals in any language, we are very proud of you as Englishmen watching you, what you are doing abroad, you are absolutely fantastic. Keep up the good work!”
Of course, most Tottenham fans will probably align with Carragher in being proud of Kane, even if he did choose to leave last summer.
With time, fans probably do understand the decision, even if it may now be more frustrating given how well Postecoglou has started.
But Kane talk aside, one player who may end up joining Tottenham in the future, Pedro Neto, has now been speaking about facing Spurs this season.
