Everton target Joaquin Correa wants a move to Inter Milan, according to Il Tempo.

What’s the story?

The Argentine attacker has been a target for the Toffees all summer long.

Reports from the Mirror (22/8, page 67) claimed the player’s agent had given the green light over a move. Everton were thought to have increased their bid to £32m for the Lazio man.

However, the Il Tempo news would suggest the player himself has turned down a move to Goodison Park.

As a result, Corriere Dello Sport says the Serie A champions are preparing a bid to sign the attacker worth a total of €30m (£25.6m).

Everton do not need more attackers

This summer has been about reshaping the squad in the mould of Rafael Benitez.

The Spaniard has already strengthened in attack with the additions of Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray.

And the former Leicester City man has shone brightly, scoring and winning a man of the match award in the draw with Leeds United.

As a result, Everton do not need a third attacker as Correa seemingly chooses Inter Milan.

You feel as though the rejection from the South American could prove to be a blessing in disguise.

With as many as six different options behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin already, a further addition would have bloated the side.
