Nuno praises ‘contagious’ Tottenham ace Heung-Min Son

Nuno Espirito Santo has waxed lyrical about Tottenham Hotspur forward Heung-Min Son.

What’s the story?

In an interview with Sky Sports (via Football Daily), the Portuguese coach has claimed the £140k-per-week South Korean’s best characteristic is his smile.

Son has been a stand-out figure for the club during this summer’s pre-season outings. The 29-year-old scored the winner in last weekend’s 1-0 win over arch-rivals Arsenal.

It came after the attacker signed a new long-term contract to keep him in north London until 2025. The ace’s previous deal was due to expire at the end of the 2022/2023 season.

When speaking about forward, Nuno said: “Sonny is a very special player. Beyond all the talent and all the quality, he has one characteristic that is very important: he’s a happy boy. He works with a smile on his face and it’s contagious. What I’m looking forward to is to always keep him smiling.”

‘Contagious’ Son can carry Tottenham forward

With the latest reports about Harry Kane proving less than optimistic, it seems the centre-forward could be leaving.

According to the Evening Standard, Manchester City are confident they will sign the 28-year-old.

It means Spurs will need a new talisman to carry the hopes of the club.

The ‘contagious’ Son can help Tottenham go forward next season and beyond.

Son’s attitude, coupled with his sensational ability, makes him more than worthy of replacing Kane.

Since joining the Londoners in 2015, the star has scored 107 times in 280 appearances. His performances have carried the club in some crucial fixtures in recent years, most famously the Champions League tie versus the Citizens.

With Kane potentially leaving Tottenham, it seems all hope is lost. But, with Son around, there is renewed optimism for next season.
