With the January window being a quiet one for Arsenal, there’s no doubt that Mikel Arteta is already deciding a summer transfer target or two.
Arsenal operated superbly last summer, signing all of Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber in quick fashion.

And although that spending slightly compromised their chances of making further progress in January, it was well thought.
One or two Arsenal fans are frustrated with those decisions right now, but those issues have been made to look worse by unfortunate injuries.
But with the summer spending in focus, Arsenal should and could be targeting a few Premier League stars.
A move for Ivan Toney, who will have 12 months left on his contract at the time, looks like a no-brainer.
And perhaps Arsenal will also return with interest for Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz.
However, it’s Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto that Mikel Arteta simply can’t let slip away in the summer.
Arteta has made Neto an Arsenal target in the past, and he needs to do so again.
Mikel Arteta has to bring Arsenal target Pedro Neto the club this summer
Now back fit for Wolves, Pedro Neto was outstanding for the side in a hotly contested affair against West Bromwich Albion today.
Neto scored an ‘excellent’ opener in the first half, showcasing all of his ability.

And it’s so clear how much of an upgrade the Wolves winger would be on either Reiss Nelson or Leandro Trossard.
The £70m-rated forward would even push Gabriel Martinelli on the left, as Trossard has sporadically done this season.
Moreover, should Bukayo Saka miss a run of games, Arsenal would have an adequate alternative to turn to.
Newcastle United are now said to have interest in Neto for the summer ahead, and Arteta simply can’t afford to let Arsenal miss out.
Yes, it will be a big outlay, but The Gunners should have a considerable war chest once again.
It seems feasible that Arsenal could make three signings like the ones listed above this summer, they’ll have plenty of ambition.
And with that in mind, it seems the club could even chase a deal for a player currently starring at AFCON.
