A lot of Arsenal fans may be keeping a very close eye on Kieran Tierney’s fortunes at Real Sociedad whilst on loan this season.
And following a recent injury, Tierney has now returned to start two games for the Spanish side.

Playing 90 minutes yesterday, the Scot was part of an incredible 3-0 away win against Villarreal in La Liga.
And in a pretty unique situation, Arsenal’s loanee is now playing with someone they are said to want to buy.
Martin Zubimendi also played 90 minutes in the game, a player strongly linked with Arsenal in the past, and one that is still often mentioned when looking towards the future.
And following the game yesterday, it would appear that Tierney and Zubimendi have struck up a friendship.
Tierney took to Instagram after the game to upload three photos from the win with a caption of: “Gran victoria!!! Aupa Real!!”, translating to ‘great victory’ for those who haven’t spent time on loan in the Basque country.
And in reply, a host of Sociedad players among others were quick to show their support for Arsenal’s Tierney.
Zubimendi simply replied with a rocket emoji.

Martin Zubimendi very impressed with Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney for Real Sociedad
Of course, this situation does actually present an interesting one for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta.
If the club do want to pursue 24-year-old Zubimendi, which would seem well advised, perhaps Tierney could be used in exchange.

The defender is massively popular with Arsenal fans, but it seems that is a chapter coming to an end.
Moreover, Real Socided are said to be willing to part with a reasonable fee to secure the Scot on a permanent basis.
Zubimendi is said to be available for £53m in the near future, and perhaps a cash-plus deal could be explored.
Some Arsenal fans will still regret the decision to let Tierney leave on loan to head to Real Sociedad.
Another uncertain defensive performance from Oleksandr Zinchenko does make the decision a questionable one, even if there was a clash of styles.
But as stated, a interesting opportunity could be emerging for this summer.
