£40m Tottenham target could still leave on deadline day

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Conor Gallagher all month long.

The midfielder has been touted as a player Spurs really like throughout this entire transfer window, and now, with just hours to go in this transfer window, there’s still some talk of Gallagher leaving.

Chelsea need to sell players, and with departures for the likes of Armando Broja and Trevoh Chalobah looking difficult to broker, Gallagher could yet be in the chopping block.

Speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk Podcast, Dharmesh Sheth has been discussing Gallagher’s future, and he says that you can’t rule out a move away from Chelsea on deadline day.

Can’t discount Gallagher move

Sheth spoke about the £40m man.

“If they were to sell a player like Conor Gallagher, Trevoh Chalobah or Armando Broja, then it would represent pure profit for Chelsea and that’s exactly what they need with regard to Profit and Sustainability rules. Will Gallagher go this late in the window? This is a player you just can’t rule out, but the more you think about it and the more Pochettino talks about it you think this is going to be revisited in the summer,” Sheth said.

One to watch

This was always going to be one to keep an eye on right up until the deadline.

Gallagher is a player that Tottenham would love to sign, and if this door does open ever so slightly, Spurs will be there.

It won’t be easy for Tottenham to get this deal done, but don’t be shocked if Spurs do pounce late for Gallagher if Chelsea struggle to get other deals over the line.
