One Tottenham player has now revealed that he intends to leave Tottenham for Spain at some point in his career.

The comments were made during an interview with El Espanyol during the international break.

So, which Tottenham player admitted he doesn’t see himself staying in N17 forever? Let’s take a look…

Pedro Porro admits he plans to leave Tottenham for La Liga return

Well, it was Pedro Porro who revealed that he intends to play his football back in Spain at some point.

The Spaniard only joined Tottenham in a £40m move from Sporting Lisbon back in January 2023 – but is already plotting a future switch to La Liga, where he spent time with Girona and Real Valladolid.

Porro said: “In football you never know. Today you are playing there and tomorrow you may be playing somewhere else. Being Spanish, of course I would like to return and enjoy La Liga. When I played here, I enjoyed it very much and I hope to return one day, of course.”

The Spain international has made 44 appearances for Spurs since arriving from Sporting CP – scoring four goals while also providing 11 assists.

No need to panic

While Porro is clearly targeting a move back to Spain at some stage, there is no need for Tottenham fans to worry.

The Tottenham No.23 is contracted to Spurs until July 2028 – so he should still have many more years in N17 to come.

Anyway, even if Porro does agitate for a move before his contract expires, Tottenham are well placed to receive a huge profit.

The CIES Football Observatory value the defender at €60m (£52m) – although that is just a base figure, and Spurs would surely demand at least £70m if the man from Don Benito did ask to leave.

Porro has developed into a truly unique defender – if he can even be called that, given how high he operates up the pitch.

England international Conor Coady even said he was shocked to see the Spaniard making runs in behind opposition defenders during Tottenham’s recent 4-0 win over Aston Villa.

Hopefully, Porro spends many years at Tottenham before making his desired return to Spain.
