Arsenal have just over three weeks to get some more signings on board before transfer deadline day.

The Gunners have made one senior signing so far this summer, bringing Riccardo Calafiori to the Emirates from Italian side Bologna, and chances are they’re not done yet.

Arsenal could well look to strengthen their attacking ranks. They have been linked with a number of strikers in recent months, such as Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyokeres and Ivan Toney.

At the same time, the Gunners are reportedly looking to move some more players on, including one of the forwards on their books.

Now, according to a report from France, Arsenal have softened their stance towards said player with a club that has been linked with his signature.

Arsenal reopen Marseille door for Eddie Nketiah

The player in question is Eddie Nketiah, whose future at the Emirates Stadium is increasingly uncertain.

In recent days, Marseille are said to have made a £23million bid for Nketiah, which Arsenal have rejected.

This resulted in the Ligue 1 side turning their attentions to Lens forward Elye Wahi, which appears to have spooked the Gunners.

Now, according to Santi Aouna of Footmercato, Arsenal have “opened the door once again” to Marseille for Nketiah.

The Gunners are now “showing themselves to be more reasonable” with regards to the player’s price tag, which they had previously set at £30million.

Now, the ball is in Marseille’s court, as they can choose whether to keep pursuing Nketiah or cool their interest and try for Wahi instead.

Arsenal eager to sell Nketiah as fresh start sought by striker

Although Nketiah has been a good squad option for Arsenal over the past few years, he’s at an age now where he really ought to be starting regularly.

Since it doesn’t look as though the Gunners will be able to give him this opportunity, it’s best for him if he were to leave.

It’s good to see that Arsenal seem willing to sell the “incredible” Nketiah to Marseille, particularly as he has reportedly agreed personal terms with the French side.

The Gunners will now hope that they haven’t overplayed their hand with Marseille, and it remains to be seen what the latter club now plans to do.
