29-year-old Tottenham player just quietly put in his best performance of the season against Fulham - TBR View

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane quietly put in his best performance of the season against Fulham on Saturday.

Antonio Conte’s men remain unbeaten after a 2-1 win over the Cottagers at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

Richarlison grabbed the headlines after a brilliant performance in what was his first start for Spurs.

But Kane quietly went about his business and arguably produced his most complete display of the season.

The 29-year-old has been in excellent goalscoring form during the current campaign as he’s bagged five goals in six games.

Kane did put in a great display against Nottingham Forest just over two weeks ago as he bagged a brace.

But his performance on Saturday has gone slightly under the radar.

Kane put in his best performance of the season

Kane could have been on the scoresheet just six minutes in after he turned smartly on the edge of the box but his effort was saved by Bernd Leno.

As usual, the England captain’s passing range was phenomenal. He caused Marco Silva’s men problems all afternoon as he linked up Spurs’ moves expertly.

Just after the half hour mark, Kane received the ball on the edge of the box once again and played a delightful chipped ball to Heung-Min Son.

But the South Korean’s effort came back off the crossbar and denied Kane an assist.

The Tottenham striker also linked up very well with Richarlison in what was the first time the pair have started a game together.

Kane’s passing often created openings for wing-backs Ryan Sessegnon and Emerson Royal. And with extra quality from the pair on the day, the scoreline could have been much better on the eye for Spurs.

After an excellent all-round display, Kane was finally rewarded with a goal as he pounced on Sessegnon’s effort in the 74th minute.

The Englishman has been popping up with these types of goals more often this season and Conte will be delighted to see his striker in the box more frequently.

The Spurs man was then replaced by Dejan Kulusevski with just over 10 minutes of the game left. But his performance was quietly his best of the season.

Kane found the perfect mix of creating openings for his side and was in exactly the right place to grab a typical striker’s goal.

Conte will be hoping to see more of the same from his star man this weekend as his side prepare for their toughest test of the season yet in Manchester City.
