One key Tottenham Hotspur player has admitted he delivered an Ange Postecoglou-inspired team talk on international duty yesterday.

It’s been a productive week or so for Tottenham players during the international break.

The likes of Cristian Romero, Giovani Lo Celso, Heung-min Son and Brennan Johnson have all scored for their countries in recent days.

Dejan Kulusevski played the full 90 minutes last night as Sweden picked up a 1-0 win over Albania.

The 23-year-old setup Gustaf Nilsson early in the second half for what turned out to be the winner for Sweden.

As well as creating in the final third, Kulusevski was also trusted with delivering a team talk at halftime and he’s admitted he took inspiration from Ange Postecoglou.

What Kulusevski said about Postecoglou after Sweden friendly

Speaking to Fotboll Skanalen, Kulusevski reflected on being trusted to talk to his teammates at halftime.

“He took me aside for a second and asked if I could talk and I said I’ll solve it, then I had to walk around thinking what the hell to say, but it was fun,” the Spurs star said. “Maybe I’ll have to take it again next time.

“I get inspiration from everything, the speech was from my coach in Tottenham, he is strong on it so I copied a little because I believe in what he says. I prepared that we have to play as a family because a family protects each other.”

Kulusevski inspired by Tottenham boss Postecoglou

Postecoglou has made quite the impression since his summer switch from Celtic and his team talks have certainly gone down well at Spurs.

Indeed, it has already been claimed that some at Tottenham have labelled his team talks as ‘the best they’ve ever heard’.

James Maddison also praised the Aussie for his motivational speaking back in December.

It would appear that whatever Kulusevski said to his teammates had the desired effect as they scored just six minutes after the break.

The £25 million is a huge admirer of his current boss at Spurs and it’s fair to say that Postecoglou seems to have the dressing room behind him in north London.
