Mikel John Obi has said that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal or Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City could try to sign Victor Boniface in the future.

The former Chelsea star has directly told the Bayer Leverkusen striker that he is very good and could earn a move to Arsenal or City.

Victor Boniface backed to join Arsenal or Manchester City

Well, former Chelsea star Mikel John Obi rates Victor Boniface highly. The pundit has directly told the Bayer Leverkusen striker that he could earn a move to Arsenal or Manchester City in the future.

Mikel has outlined the attributes that make the 23-year-old Nigeria international striker a special player.

The youngster has scored 10 goals and given seven assists in 15 Bundesliga starts this season. He has also scored four goals and given one assist in four UEFA Europa League games.

CBS Sports reported last month that Arsenal are on the hunt for a new striker and have identified Boniface as a potential target.

Mikel John Obi said to Victor Boniface on his podcast: “You have the quality to play in the Premier League. You are strong, you are quick, you are technically very good. 

“When I watch other strikers, I think when I watch you and Victor [Osimhen] both of you can score goals, both of you have the physicality and are very quick but I think one thing which you have a bit more than him, you are very good on the ball. Victor is good on the ball as well but you are technically very good.

“When I look at you and watch you, you still have a lot of room to improve but when you improve you can be a complete striker.

“I think in the Premier League – a club like an Arsenal or a Man City, where they play good football. You never know, another two or three years in Germany, and you never know, a Man City or an Arsenal could come knocking on the door.”

My View: Arsenal more likely than Manchester City to come for Victor Boniface

In my view, Manchester City are unlikely to make a move for Victor Boniface anytime soon. I believe that Arsenal are more likely to sign the Bayer Leverkusen striker.

City, who won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup last season, have one of the world’s best players in Erling Haaland. He is 23 now and is only going to get better. It is frightening to even imagine that!

The Citizens also have Julian Alvarez. The Argentina international forward is 23 as well.

Gabriel Jesus is the number one striker for Arsenal, but he is not a prolific goalscorer. Eddie Nketiah is not good enough to lead the line for the Gunners week in and week out.
