Ally McCoist has said that Arsenal really need to start thinking about upgrading on Eddie Nketiah after last night’s 2-0 loss against Liverpool.
The Gunners have looked toothless in front of goal in the last three matches, with Mikel Arteta’s side only managing one goal despite having well over 60 shots on target.
As a result, talk of signing a new striker has dominated the rumour mill for the north London side, with Arsenal linked with the likes of Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney.

And now, speaking on TalkSport, McCoist has joined in on the conversation of whether or not Arsenal need a new striker, with the Scottish pundit claiming that the Gunners need an upgrade on Nketiah.
McCoist said: “Arsenal have got to break the bank. Jeff’s right, it’s never been more evident that they need a goalscoring centre-forward.
“Jesus is a good player, Nketiah would probably get them more goals than any of them. But I don’t think at this moment in his career is the answer.”
Arsenal should have upgraded on Eddie Nketiah in the summer

Whilst Nketiah has shown in patches this season that he has the potential to be a leading man for Arsenal, it’s pretty clear that the Gunners need a better option in the position.
The 24-year-old England international’s consistency has been a problem ever since Nketiah broke into Arsenal’s senior team, with the striker also proving to be a wasteful option from the bench.
Indeed, Arsenal should have upgraded on Nketiah when they had the chance this summer, with the Gunners now suffering the consequences in recent weeks.
And this January should prove to be the window where Arsenal upgrade on the forward, with Nketiah simply not good enough to lead the line for a top Premier League side.
