Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on signing Randal Kolo Muani, but are also looking to offload players before the window shuts.

Thomas Frank suffered his first Premier League defeat as Tottenham Hotspur boss on Saturday afternoon, falling to a 1-0 loss against Bournemouth.

Tottenham landed Xavi Simons just days ago, but are now ready to strike another incoming deal to bolster Frank’s attacking ranks.

Randal Kolo Muani is close to joining Tottenham on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, as Dominic Solanke faces a spell on the sidelines.

Spurs will also look to move players out of the club before the window closes, with Manor Solomon wanted by Crystal Palace.

Bryan Gil set for Tottenham Hotspur exit

Solomon may not be the only winger on the move in the coming hours.

The Times’ Tom Allnutt reports that Bryan Gil is now set to leave Tottenham for a permanent switch to Girona.

Tottenham have been looking to move Gil on, some four years since he joined from Sevilla in a £21.6million deal, as noted by Sky Sports.

Gil has never really lived up to his billing at Tottenham, and has been loaned out three times, joining Valencia, Sevilla and Girona.

Gil is now set to join Girona for just €10million (£8.6million), with Tottenham finally moving the Spaniard out on a permanent basis.

Elche also wanted to sign Gil, but he will return to Girona after spending last season on loan with the La Liga club.

The 24-year-old needs to settle down and play regular first-team football, which is not on offer at Tottenham.

A permanent exit makes sense for all, and Gil is set to bring an end to his Tottenham career before the window slams shut.

Thomas Frank almost signed Bryan Gil

Tottenham will now wave goodbye to Gil, with Thomas Frank allowing him to move on despite previously showing an interest in the Spaniard.

Reporter Ben Jacobs told The Last Word on Spurs podcast in 2024 that Brentford were keen to take Gil on loan.

Brentford wanted Gil to cover for injuries and players heading to the Africa Cup of Nations, but no deal materialised as Frank missed out on a deal.

Just over 18 months on, Frank is now offloading Gil, with the Spurs boss well aware of the increased expectation levels and the need for top quality at Tottenham.
