£20m Tottenham player has just deleted all pictures and mentions of Spurs on his Instagram

Tottenham Hotspur full-back Djed Spence has just deleted all pictures and mentions of Spurs on his Instagram page

Spence completed a £20 million switch to north London from Middlesbrough over the summer (The Guardian).

The 22-year-old enjoyed a decent spell in the Championship last season while on loan at Nottingham Forest.

His impressive displays earned him a move to Spurs but he has found chances hard to come by under Antonio Conte.

Spence has only managed three substitute appearances in the Premier League, with all of them coming in the final moments of games.

The Englishman did play for 25 minutes against his old side Forest in the Carabao Cup, but was then dropped to the bench days later against Leeds. Now, the wing-back has removed all mentions of his club on his Instagram page.

Spence has deleted all pictures and mentions of Spurs

Spence previously mentioned Spurs in his bio on the social media platform and had posted pictures of himself in action for Conte’s men.

But he has seemingly just deleted everything that relates to Tottenham from his page.

The youngster has left one post on his Instagram page, which is a selection of pictures from his England U21 appearance back in September.

The Athletic recently reported that Spence isn’t frustrated with his situation at Tottenham and understands that he has work to do to get to the level required under Conte.

It’s not a great sign that he has removed all mentions of the club from his Instagram page, as this is usually what players do before a move.

But then again, there could be nothing more to it as there are still pictures of Spence in a Spurs shirt on his Twitter account

The Times reported earlier this month that Spence could be set to head out on loan during the January transfer window.

After a frustrating start to the season for the youngster, that may be the best move for both parties.

Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty have failed to impress from right wing-back, yet Spence hasn’t got a real chance to impress Conte as of yet.

If he heads out on loan to a Premier League club to build up some valuable experience in the division, he could come back to Spurs over the summer and push for a place in Conte’s side.
