Arsenal have been handed a big boost ahead of the clash with Fulham tomorrow with what looks like the possible return of Takehiro Tomiyasu.
The Japanese defender has been out since the beginning of December and looked set to be out until the new year at the very least.
Tomiyasu is set to be part of Japan’s squad for the Asia Cup so will be missing some games for Arsenal anyway.
However, it looks like he could be back before many thought, thanks to the eagle-eyed among us looking at Arsenal’s latest training pictures.
In the image below from Getty Images, Tomiyasu can be seen in the background alongside Mo Elneny in his full training gear, seemingly taking part in the session. Of course, little else is given away and Tomiyasu might have just been taking part in some of the lighter work.
But regardless, it’s good news for Arsenal to see the £20m man back involved.

Tomiyasu return boosts tired looking Arsenal
There’s no doubt that the Gunners need everyone they can to be fit as the season enters the cold months ahead.
Against West Ham, Arsenal looked a touch off it and were tired in some areas. That comes down to not having the right options to freshen things up and seeing Tomiyasu now back among things will delight Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal are right in this title race but they have to keep winning games with the likes of City, Villa and Liverpool all cranking up the pressure.
The second half of the season is going to be massive again. Therefore, having Tomiyasu available and back quicker than expected is a boost for everyone at the club.
Tomiyasu gives Arsenal an option at both right-back and centre-back. That’s what Arsenal need right now and if he is fit, you can half expect to see him involved at Fulham tomorrow.
