It’s fair to say that Arsenal and Mikel Arteta have been reaping a lot more reward from their players out on loan this season.
Of their senior squad, Arsenal currently have Kieran Tierney at Real Sociedad, Nuno Tavares at Nottingham Forest and Albert Sambi Lokonga at Luton Town.

And whilst Tavares’ time at Forest has been indifferent, both Tierney and Lokonga have been thriving on their respective loans – even if Tierney is still dealing with injuries once again.
Of course, there’s also a couple of Arsenal’s high-profile youngsters who are out on loan too.
And the journey of striker Mika Biereth has certainly been an exciting one to follow this campaign.
Having spent the first half of the season on loan at Motherwell in Scotland, Biereth has now made the switch to Sturm Graz in Austria.
And typical to his season so far, Biereth did score on his Sturm Graz debut in the cup this weekend.
The Danish youth international seems to be making remarkable progress this season, which is demonstrated by a stat Football Wonderkids have just shared on X.
Arsenal’s Mika Biereth is making excellent progress out on loan this season
According to their data, Mika Biereth is joint top with Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz in big chances created by under-21 players in Europe this season.
Both Biereth and Wirtz have created ten big chances this campaign, and it’s certainly not bad company for the Arsenal striker to keep.

Xavi Simons, who Arsenal have been linked with, has created eight big chances.
Whereas Cole Palmer, who’s having an excellent debut season at Chelsea, has created seven.
And whilst it is remarkable to see Biereth’s name among these players, that data does need to be put in context of the leagues the 20-year-old has been playing in.
That being said, Biereth’s progress on loan this season is incredibly promising, and will be catching the eye of Arsenal.
Perhaps the striker will still fail to make the step up to Mikel Arteta’s first team in the future, however, the club could now have a very sellable asset.
And that could be useful when chasing two of the fastest players in the Premier League this summer.
