Mikel Arteta has decided to introduce some of Hale End’s finest into Arsenal training – with James Sweet spotted amongst the group.
The 20-year-old was seen in footage from London Colney.
So, what is the situation involving James Sweet at Arsenal? Let’s take a look…
Mikel Arteta includes James Sweet in Arsenal training
Well, the Wales U19 international is getting closer and closer to making his Arsenal debut by the looks of it.
Sweet was named on the bench for the first time in the Premier League this season as Arsenal recorded a 5-0 hammering over Burnley on Saturday.
In footage posted by Hayters TV earlier on Tuesday, the defender could be seen walking out onto the grass towards the front of the group, just behind Mohamed Elneny, Ben White and Jorginho around the 1:30 mark.
It is not the first time Arteta has included Sweet in his sessions.

The full-back also partook in training back in September ahead of a Carabao Cup clash against Brentford, and was again involved before the aforementioned win over Burnley.
Therefore, it is surely just a matter of time under Sweet is handed a debut by Arteta, potentially in the final few minutes of a Premier League game if Arsenal are winning comfortably again, as we have often seen in recent weeks.
Who is James Sweet?
The Arsenal No.73 is clearly doing something right inside Hale End – in truth, we believe his versatility is what has caught Arteta’s eye.
Sweet has played as both a right-back and left-back this season, as well as a right wing-back and left wing-back according to Transfermarkt.

Arteta recently revealed that he wants his players to be unpredictable out on the pitch, so perhaps Sweet’s ability to impact a game across several positions has impressed the Spaniard.
Primarily, the youngster is a right-back, making five appearances in that position this season.
