Ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Burnley on Saturday, Mikel Arteta has called up a number of youngsters to first-team training.
It’s now become common practice for Arteta to give young players a chance with the senior squad at London Colney, even if it doesn’t translate to immediate minutes.

That being said, Ethan Nwnaeri did get a very rare chance to show his rich potential in Arsenal’s seismic win at West Ham United last Sunday.
The midfielder looked incredibly exciting out on the right wing, even if that’s not his preferred position.
And as you’d expect, Nwaneri did continue to train with Arsenal’s first team in the lead up to Saturday’s trip to Turf Moor, when he could feature again.
Moreover, whilst it wasn’t necessarily a surprise to see the 16-year-old with the senior squad, there was a seldom spotted face with the group.
20-year-old James Sweet made an appearance in training and was actually pictured by Arsenal on the winning team in a small sided game.
Sweet, a right-back who can also play centrally or drift into midfield, did actually captain Arsenal’s Premier League 2 side last Friday.
James Sweet spotted in Arsenal training before trip to Burnley this weekend
Sweet, who has previously been hailed for his ‘brilliant’ performances at youth level, does seem to have considerable potential.
And it is perhaps a surprise that the Hale End graduate hasn’t been given the opportunity to head out on loan just yet.

Sweet does have four youth caps for Wales, demonstrating how well he has been thought of.
And perhaps the youngster is ready for more, as his inclusion in Arsenal’s training sessions before Burnley insists.
That being said, fans may wonder if Sweet will eventually head in a similar direction to Lino Sousa.
The youngster left Arsenal for Aston Villa in January, recently explaining the reason behind his move.
And considering Sweet isn’t quite held in the same echelon as Sousa was, he perhaps will too seek pastures new with time.
That being said, one player who left Arsenal back in 2022 has now been lighting up the Champions League.
