Tottenham’s young players have been the talk of pre-season so far as Ange Postecoglou gives youth a chance to shine.

Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray are being lauded after arriving at the club, while the likes of Will Lankshear have also earned praise.

Mikey Moore has been tipped to be the next big thing, while Jamie Donley is also expected to be a star.

There’s plenty to be excited about at Tottenham, but there’s one young player who mustn’t be lost in the scramble.

Indeed, before Gray and Bergvall became the talk of Tottenham, Alfie Devine was tipped to be the next Spurs star.

Speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Rob Guest has been discussing Devine and his performances in pre-season so far.

The journalist says that while many young players are shining, Devine is quietly having a great pre-season himself and he may get a chance in the Tottenham team this season.

Alfie Devine is shining in pre-season.

“Alfie Devine is making an impact as well in pre-season. He’s someone who has probably gone under the radar. You have Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall who have moved to the club Jamie Donley, Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear, the young players coming in are in the forefront of some Tottenham fans’ minds,” Guest said.

“He’s started really well this year. Good performances against Hearts and QPR. I’m just wondering if he’s giving Ange something to think about before the new season.”

Alfie Devine may struggle for minutes

As well as Devine is doing at Spurs this summer, it may be tough for the midfielder to get minutes this term.

Indeed, there’s so much competition in that Spurs midfield at the moment.

Yves Bissouma, Pape Sarr, Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, Giovani Lo Celso and Oliver Skipp are all vying for spots in the midfield, and it may be hard for Devine to get chances.

Luckily, at the age of just 19, this young man does have time on his side, but he may have to wait a little bit longer to get his chance at Spurs.
