Dele Alli has delivered an exciting verdict on Tottenham Hotspur teenager Alfie Devine during an Instagram Live session, urging Spurs fans not to “sleep on him” as he clearly continues to make an impression in Spurs training.
Devine is still only 16 but has already made his first-team debut and even scored, during the 5-0 FA Cup win over AFC Marine in January. Having only joined the club last summer from Wigan, he has even become a regular in the Under-23 side.
Well ahead of the curve, Devine has played Tottenham’s last eight Premier League 2 matches – and fans will remember his red card for a horror tackle on Danny Drinkwater, that saw the Chelsea midfielder then react angrily and earn red for his response.
Speaking about Devine on his official Instagram page, Dele gave his take on Devine with the youngster also earning call-ups to England’s under-16 and under-17 sides of late. He said: “Alfie Devine is a very good player. Don’t sleep on him.”

TBR’s view – Where does Devine go next season?
Does he remain at Spurs and become a regular with the 23’s and with a view to breaking into the senior side – or does he go out on loan given he has already tasted senior football? Surely, given he turns 17 in August, Devine needs to stay for another season.
Clearly, if he is making an impression in first-team training with Dele – which is where the England international will have become accustomed to the ex-Wigan man – then Jose Mourinho will be taking note too. Spurs fans should be excited by Devine.
