Wolves star Hwang Hee-chan has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min was his role model growing up.
Son’s quality is known to everyone. He is one of the best players in the Premier League, but we’re sure he’ll be happy to see his compatriot impressing at Wolves this season.

Hwang Hee-chan says he has a great understanding with Tottenham’s Son Heung-min
Wolves star Hwang Hee-chan has always been an impressive talent, and his performances for the Wanderers have caught the attention of big clubs, including Tottenham.
Back in May, ahead of the summer transfer window, The Mirror revealed that Tottenham were interested in signing Hwang from Wolves.
The South Korean, who joined the Wanderers for £14 million (BBC) after an impressive loan spell, scored only four goals last season, but Spurs saw something in him that they liked. Perhaps, Son Heung-min recommended Hwang to the Tottenham recruitment team.
Now, ahead of the game between Wolves and Spurs today, Hwang has had his say on Son. He says he idolised the Spurs man and revealed that he has a great understanding with him having played together for the national team.
Hwang told Wolves’ website: “We’ve played together for a long time, and we understand each other, we’re very close with the national team.
“He was a model in Korea when I was young, I watched his game and he did very well, and is doing very well at the moment also. He’s scoring goals and is unbelievable. He’s an amazing player. I’m happy to play against him on the pitch, for me, it’s very meaningful.”

Hwang is having an amazing season for Wolves
Tottenham star Son is one of the best players in the world, and he has scored eight goals in 12 appearances in all competitions this season.
His compatriot, Hwang, isn’t far off either. The Wolves attacker has seven goals to his name in 12 games, which is an excellent return considering he’s playing for a side that has won just three games all season.
Hwang is 27 now and entering the prime years of his career. If he carries on his great form until the end of the season, he could get himself a big move away from Wolves.
Whether Tottenham will revive their interest, however, remains to be seen.
