'100%': Kieran Tierney names the best player he's ever played with and it's not an Arsenal teammate
Arsenal full-back Kieran Tierney has named the best player he’s ever played with, and Arsenal fans might not be pleased with his answer.
When asked who the best player he had ever played with was, Tierney gave this response: “Best player I’ve played with – Scott Brown. 100%, as a whole football player. A leader, legend, in the changing room – on and off the park. Most influential player by far.”
Tierney’s allegiances to Celtic certainly shone through in his answer, and the effect Brown has had on his career is clear to see.
Only three players have played more games with Tierney than Scott Brown, with the pair appearing in 145 matches together.
They’ve also won 11 major honours in Scotland playing together, a level of success Tierney will have to work very hard for to match at Arsenal.

Despite all the success the pair have shared, there’s plenty of Tierney’s teammates at Arsenal that might feel hard done by.
Brown’s currently manager of League One side Fleetwood Town, and this is first foray below the border.
Although he was incredibly loyal to Celtic, if he had reached the levels to play in the Premier League, you would have expected him to have been picked up by an English club at some point.
In Tierney’s three years at the Emirates, he’s played alongside the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and World Cup winner Mesut Ozil.
The form that new signing Gabriel Jesus is in as well could mean he soon enters Tierney’s thinking in the future, with former Spurs player Jamie O’Hara already admitting he was wrong about the Brazilian.
Tierney has played every game this season for Arsenal, but all of these appearances have come off the bench, with another new signing Oleksandr Zinchenko getting the nod ahead of him, and also proving pundits wrong.
Arsenal currently sit top of the Premier League with a 100% record, and they await the visit of Fulham on Saturday to see if they can make it four wins from four.
