Zinchenko says Arsenal star Martinelli has an 'unbelievable future'
Arsenal new boy Oleksandr Zinchenko has predicted that Gabriel Martinelli has an ‘unbelievable’ future ahead of him.
The Ukrainian joined the Gunners last month for an initial fee of £30 million from Manchester City (Sky Sports). Even though he’s still only 25, he knows a fine talent when he sees one, and he’s in awe of the young Brazilian attacker.
Zinchenko says Arsenal star Martinelli has an ‘unbelievable future’
Martinelli has had a fantastic start to the season. The 21-year-old has scored in each of the Gunners’ first two games of the season, and his performances have really impressed Zinchenko.
The versatile Ukrainian branded Martinelli as a ‘real diamond’ before comparing him to another Arsenal new boy – Gabriel Jesus.
He told the Evening Standard: “He is incredible, he is a real diamond.
“I would say exactly the same things about him that I say about Gabriel Jesus. The way these two guys are working — how everyone is working really — every single day is unbelievable.
“He (Martinelli) has got amazing quality and he’s still young. I am pretty sure he has an unbelievable future.”
There are very few young players in the Premier League who are on the same level as Martinelli.
The Brazilian is rapid and his dribbling skills are spectacular. He’s unplayable on his day, and now that he’s scoring regularly as well, he’s a threat to every team he plays against.
Arsenal’s front three is a really dangerous one now. Martinelli, Jesus and Bukayo Saka can interchange positions with ease, and all three of them are effective irrespective of where they are in the final third. That makes it extremely hard for opposition defenders to mark them.
If Mikel Arteta can keep Martinelli and his two pals up top fit throughout the campaign, Arsenal will surely have a successful season.
