In an interview with Celtic’s official website, Bhoys striker Leigh Griffiths confirmed he was aiming for a return to action in pre-season.
Griffiths took an indefinite break from football midway through the 2018/19 campaign for personal reasons. In his absence, Celtic completed their third consecutive domestic treble.
But the 28-year-old was sorely missed. Without the former Wolves and Hibs striker, Celtic were overly reliant on Odsonne Edouard. Celtic fans look forward to having Griffiths back.

Griffiths confirmed he was looking forward to working with Neil Lennon, who first signed him for Celtic back in 2014. He told the club’s official website: “I’m looking forward to getting back. I have a fresh start next season with the new manager so I’m excited.”
The Scotland international believes he will return to action with a fresh mindset. He added that he was feeling stronger both mentally and physically.
Griffiths added: “The hunger is probably greater now than it ever has been. The difference between where I was in December to where I am now has been night and day. Hopefully, when I pull the jersey back on and step back on to the pitch, I’ll be firing on all cylinders.”
Here are some tweets from Celtic fans who are looking forward to Griffiths’ return to action.
