Newcastle Transfer News: Youssef Moukoko stance could open door for deal

Borussia Dortmund forward, Youssoufa Moukoko, sees Newcastle as a potential landing spot, as talk continues over his future.

Moukoko is one of the most in demand young players in the game. A whole host of clubs are said to be keen, with 90Min only recently reporting how Newcastle, Arsenal, Chelsea – as well as Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United – are all keen on signing him.

However, game time is thought to feature high on Moukoko’s list of priorities. And with that in mind, Christian Falk writes in his CaughtOffside column how Newcastle tick that box for Moukoko as it stands right now.

“The most important thing for Moukoko is playing time and he knows he can get it at Dortmund but he also sees an opportunity, in that respect, with Newcastle,” Falk said.

“Chelsea and Christopher Vivell also represent a very nice opportunity but they’re also looking at another striker in Thuram. The chance to play there isn’t as promising as it is in Dortmund or Newcastle, so this could be an influential point as far as any potential decision is concerned. The door for Dortmund is slightly more open now, as the agents also want to earn some money.”

TBR’s View: Newcastle signing Moukoko sends big message

With Newcastle continuing to impress under Eddie Howe, there is a lot to be excited about on Tyneside.

The key for the Mags now is to build on Howe’s impressive work. And part of that will be signing players who keep improving the first XI and future XI at the club.

Moukoko is clearly one of those talents. The sort of player every club in Europe wants. That being said, if Newcastle wins the race, it sends a huge message out to the football world.

Of course, he isn’t guaranteed to play at Newcastle either like Falk suggests. But they are building nicely, and it’s easy to see why he’s an attractive proposition.
