Youssouf Mulumbu will be back at Celtic this summer. As reported by the BBC, his loan deal at Kilmarnock is over and he is set to return to Parkhead. It appears, with his advocate Steve Clarke now the new Scotland boss, that his affiliation with Killie is also at an end.
It was, of course, with Kilmarnock last season that Mulumbu regained his impressive reputation from working under Clarke at West Brom.
It was that form which saw Celtic decide to hand the free agent a contract amid competition from most of Scottish football.
Mulumbu was seen as a potentially perfect bench player who could also help Celtic in the cup competitions and Europe. However, he played just three times under Brendan Rodgers before being loaned back to Kilmarnock in the winter.

Surely, despite his return to Celtic, his time at Parkhead is at an end. Some may argue he has not been given a proper shot at Celtic. However, the 32-year-old, who has one year left on his deal in Glasgow, failed to find his best form back at Rugby Park.
He also has a chance to put himself in the shop window when representing DR Congo in the African Cup of Nations this summer.
Much will depend on who the new Celtic boss is, as his experience could be seen as a major asset going forward.
However, the sensible betting man would not have Mulumbu as part of Celtic’s first-team plans next season.
