'You're just there like wow': Arsenal star admits he's been blown away by Spurs player
Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka has told TalkSPORT that Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane is among the players who have impressed him in England training.
Saka has been a breakout star at Euro 2020, with the Arsenal prospect starting in the Three Lions’ last two games.
Many expected Saka to have a bit part role to play at the tournament, but he has forced his way into England’s line-up, as part of an attacking with Tottenham’s Kane.
And when asked who has impressed him in training, Saka named Kane as one of the players who has really caught his eye.
“There’s so many players here,” Saka said when asked who had impressed him the most in training.
“When you watch some of the attackers, the little things they do – Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane. Just moments of brilliance. You’re just there like wow. It’s special.”
Kane actually hasn’t had his finest tournament so far, but the Spurs man proved why he has kept his place in the starting line-up against Germany.
Kane scored the second goal which sealed England’s passage into the quarter-final, which takes place against Ukraine on Saturday.
The Tottenham man will surely keep his place in Gareth Southgate’s starting line-up, but there is less certainity over Saka’s involvement.
Jack Grealish came off the bench to great impact against Germany, and it may be that the Arsenal man has to take the role as an impact sub again at the weekend.
Even if that is to be the case, Saka surely cannot be disappointed with the way his tournament has gone so far, and with England now looking one of the leading contenders to win the international competition, Saka’s involvement may not be over yet.
