Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo was left buzzing on Instagram after Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus was called up to the Brazil squad yesterday.

Jesus has been in brilliant form for the Gunners ever since he left City over the summer.

The 25-year-old has helped propel Arsenal to the top of the Premier League but it remained unclear whether he would be part of Brazil’s World Cup campaign.

He was snubbed by Brazil boss Tite back in September but he has now made the 26-man squad for the tournament in Qatar. And his former teammate Cancelo is absolutely delighted for Jesus.

Cancelo buzzing for Jesus

After the squad was officially announced yesterday, Jesus posted a video of himself in action for Brazil.

He captioned the post: “Inexplicable…”

And Cancelo left a comment which reads: “More than deserved, brother, you’re a genius cido.”

The pair played together under Pep Guardiola and it’s great to see Cancelo is happy for his former teammate.

Jesus will be delighted with the call-up and he will be accompanied by his teammate Gabriel Martinelli in Qatar.

But Gabriel Magalhaes has missed out, despite his strong start to the season in the Arsenal defence.

Jesus fully deserves his call-up after some dazzling performances for Mikel Arteta’s side.

The 25-year-old has struggled to find the back of the net in recent weeks but remains such an important part of the Gunners side.

He has already bagged five goals and registered six assists in just 13 Premier League games.

Brazil kick-off their World Cup campaign on November 24 and Jesus will be hoping to force his way into Tite’s side.

Tottenham forward Richarlison has been Tite’s preferred choice to lead the line for Brazil of late but with the player just returning from injury, Jesus could get a chance to impress.
