Stephy Mavididi has told Football London that playing for Arsenal again would be a “dream” for him.

The 21-year-old came through the ranks at the Emirates Stadium but despite impressing at different age groups, did not get to make a senior appearance for the Gunners.

Two years ago, Arsenal let Mavididi move to Italian giants Juventus, linking up initially with their B team, before joining Dijon on loan last summer.

The youngster’s switch to the French Ligue 1 side came about thanks in part to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, who gave him a “really good recommendation” (Football London).

Mavididi has been progressing well at Dijon, claiming eight goals and two assists from 28 appearances.

Though he wants to make the grade at Juve, the prospect of a Premier League return at some point during his career hasn’t left his mind.

“I do hope to play regularly for Juventus but if not, Juventus are not the only team in the world,” Mavididi told Football London.

“Ultimately my dream is to play in the Premier League, I’m working towards coming back to England.

“For me I have many targets. Juventus is one of them but if that doesn’t work out I’ll move on to the next one and the next one.

“Obviously it would be a dream to play for Arsenal again but right now I wouldn’t say I’m ready to play in a team like theirs.”

Mavididi’s departure from Arsenal proved quite a shock for some fans, who felt he could have made the grade at the Emirates Stadium.

Blessed with blistering pace and silky dribbling ability, he is progressing nicely, proving to be a threat off the shoulder of the last man with Dijon.

While the prospect of a return probably wouldn’t be for a couple of years, it’s however nice to know that Mavididi still has Arsenal very much in his heart.
