‘You joking’, ’50m or nothing’: Some Arsenal fans react as their player is linked with overseas giants
A number of Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to the report claiming Mikel Arteta is willing to sell Shkodran Mustafi for a reported £9million, amid links with AC Milan.
The Germany international’s time at Arsenal looked numbered after former Gunners boss Unai Emery deemed him surplus to requirements last year.
Arteta’s appointment in December, however, offered Mustafi the chance to start afresh, and he now has a new lease of life at the Emirates Stadium, having repaid the Spaniard’s faith with a series of impressive displays alongside David Luiz.

Despite his recent improvements, the 28-year-old’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the 2020-21 season, and with William Saliba set to arrive in the summer, both Mustafi and Arsenal have decisions to make.
According to Todo Fichajes, Arteta is set to twist rather than stick, the outlet claiming Mustafi is no longer part of his plans, and could look to move him on from the Emirates, with Italian giants Milan thinking about making a move.
Mustafi, who reportedly cost Arsenal in excess of £35million from Valencia in 2016, is now said to have an asking price of €10million (around £9million).
The player himself previously said he enjoys playing for Arteta and can imagine continuing to do so (Sky Sports), but if the Spaniard doesn’t plan to use him, then this summer is their only hope of getting back a reasonable enough transfer fee – even though £35million to £9million is an eye-opening depreciation in value.
Here is what some Arsenal fans on social media have made of the report:
They should pay 20 million for Mustafi

Cut our losses but I would want more than 10 million EUR, that’s a huge loss and when you consider our financial situation I would be asking for at least another 5 million on top
