'Incredible' £40m midfielder has just dropped Arsenal transfer hint
Reported Arsenal target Youri Tielemans has left the door open on a move away this summer.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with the Leicester star over the past few months.
And speculation has been intensifying since the end of the Premier League season.
Last month, Fabrizio Romano claimed Arsenal had “opened direct contacts” for potentially signing Tielemans.
Better still for the Emirates outfit, the player reportedly wants to join the Gunners as well.
Tielemans’ Leicester contract runs out in the summer of 2023.
If the 25-year-old doesn’t pen a new deal, then the Foxes are likely to sell him over the coming weeks.
The alternative for them would be to lose a key asset for very little in January, or nothing next summer.
Tielemans is currently on international duty with Belgium ahead of their Nations League triple-header.
The press asked him about his Leicester future at a press conference ahead of the Red Devils’ meeting with Poland.
“(Leaving) is not out of the question,” the Leicester Mercury quotes Tielemans as saying. “But I can also stay.
“I feel very good at Leicester, I was welcomed with open arms from day one. I give everything for the club until the last day.
“But of course you have to listen to other opportunities, you have to look at your career, and sometimes you have to make choices. Maybe one will come my way.”
Could Arsenal land ‘incredible’ midfielder for just £40million?
Arsenal could do with signing a top-quality number eight this summer.
And there aren’t many realistic and attainable targets who are better than Tielemans.
The £40million-rated Belgian, branded as an ‘incredible talent’ by Michael Dawson, ticks so many boxes for Mikel Arteta.
He is incredibly talented, versatile, can get goals and assists, and has plenty of Premier League experience.
