‘You are God’ – Liverpool fans rave about Alisson’s Champions League final performance

Last season, Liverpool fell short in the Champions League final with goalkeeper Loris Karius at fault for two of the goals. That prompted Jurgen Klopp to take action in the summer.

He signed Alisson Becker from Roma in a big-money deal to solve the goalkeeper problem. Karius was loaned out and Simon Mignolet remained as back-up.

Since arriving, Alisson has been a rock between the sticks. And he has ended his first season at Liverpool in style, helping his side to Champions League glory.

The Brazil international showed the complete turnaround since last season’s final, producing a man of the match display against Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs were unable to find a way through with Liverpool’s back four and Alisson all playing well. When called upon, Alisson was on hand to keep Spurs at bay. The 26-year-old made a handful of good saves in the second half and he looked comfortable and composed throughout.
