'Yikes, he's gone': Some fans fear 25-year-old's about to leave amid claims West Ham are keen
West Bromwich Albion fans are fearful that Matheus Pereira will leave them after he was not spotted in their pre-season squad yesterday, amid links with West Ham United.
On the way?
West Brom took on Sheffield Wednesday yesterday, but there was no sign of the Brazilian playmaker.
ESPN Brasil reported last night that West Ham United could be keen on him.
And Hammers fans may well be intrigued to have seen the reaction from West Brom supporters at their star man being absent yesterday.
Exit no surprise?
If Pereira was to leave West Brom it would not be a surprise, but it would still be a huge blow for the Baggies.
The Brazilian was the star turn of their side in the Premier League last season, despite their relegation.
If he was to arrive at West Ham he could make David Moyes’ side a bigger attacking threat.
With some doubts over whether Jesse Lingard will return, West Ham will surely need a new number 10 to drive their attack forward.
And the appeal of landing Pereira, who was such a threat last term, is obvious.
