Yet another below-par performance: It is time for Bielsa to drop Alioski

Leeds United scraped past struggling Reading last night with a 1-0 win at Elland Road.

Stuart Dallas scored the goal but it needed a late penalty save from Bailey Peacock-Farrell to earn the three points.

And after yet another poor performance from Ezgjan Alioski, surely Marcelo Bielsa is considering dropping the winger.

Bielsa has kept faith with the Macedonia international this season but his patience must be wearing thin.

The frustrating thing about Alioski is that he has the talent; there is no question that he is good enough to be competing at this level.

But inconsistency has plagued his entire spell at Elland Road and held back his progress.

The 26-year-old was below-par once again last night and his embarrassing dive summed up his performance.

With Jack Clarke and Samu Saiz waiting in the wings, it is time for Alioski to be dropped to the bench.

Despite being one of Bielsa’s favourite players, the Argentine must see that Alioski is out of form.

Perhaps this will be the wake-up call that the left-footed winger needs to rediscover his best form ahead of Leeds’ promotion push.

Alioski will have a point to prove if he comes off the bench as he tries to wrestle back his starting spot.
