West Ham United academy defender Aji Alese will ply his trade away from the London Stadium on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 20-year-old has linked up with League Two side Cambridge United, who currently sit top of the table.
Alese has been at West Ham since the age of eight, developing through the academy through to a full-time scholarship before signing his first professional deal in July 2018.

He’s been a notable performer through West Ham’s Under-18, U21 and U23 levels, and in September last year made his first-team debut for the Hammers against Hull City in the League Cup.
Alese – comfortable at centre-back and left-back – also enjoyed an impressive loan spell at League One team Accrington Stanley last season, for whom he made 15 appearances in all competitions.
His arrival at the Abbey Stadium was praised by both West Ham fans, who hope their gem can develop further, and U’s supporters, happy to have such a talent in their ranks.
Here is what some fans have been saying on social media:
Cambridge are next in action on Saturday with a trip to Barrow.
