‘Yes please’: Some Arsenal fans erupt over report linking Gunners with £15m ‘absolute unit’

A number of Arsenal fans have been taking to Twitter to give their thoughts on the report linking the Gunners with Reims defender Axel Disasi.

Arsenal have struggled in defence this season and, though Mikel Arteta will have William Saliba at the Emirates Stadium next season and could yet sign Pablo Mari permanently, there is still scope for the Gunners back line to be bolstered further.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal have scouted Disasi since the start of the season and had an initial approach rejected by the Ligue 1 side in December.

However, the outlet speculates that, with the 22-year-old’s contract expiring in June next year, Reims have agreed to let the player leave this summer to avoid losing him for free in 12 months.

Disasi has formed an integral part of a Reims defence which has conceded only 21 goals in 28 matches – a record only bettered by Real Madrid in Europe’s top five divisions.

The Paris FC academy graduate has made 32 appearances in all competitions for Reims this season and has been capped three times at France Under-20 level, though he is also eligible to play for DR Congo.
