'Yeah': Spurs given big double fitness boost as two players recover from injury, both could play tonight
Tottenham Hotspur boss Nuno has confirmed that Heung-Min Son and Cristian Romero have both recovered from injuries and are now fully fit, as per his comments on Football London.
Romero missed Tottenham’s trip to Wolves with a problem, but he was back in training this week, while concerns emerged about Son’s fitness in the aftermath of the game at Molineux.
Both Fabio Paratici and Steve Hitchen were seen talking to Son on the pitch after Spurs’ game against Wolves, as the South Korean limped off at full-time.
There were fears that Son could be set for a spell on the sidelines.
But it seems that the Spurs forward has shaken off the knock.
And when asked to confirm that Son and Romero are now full fit, Nuno said: “Yeah, like I said. Only it’s Joe and Cameron [who are injured].”
Of the pair it seems most likely that Romero will be backed to start against Pacos De Ferreira this evening.
Romero made his full Spurs debut in the reverse fixture last week, where Tottenham were beaten 1-0 in Portugal.
Tottenham now have to overturn the deficit in front of their own fans this evening.
Spurs are likely to name a more familiar line-up in the contest, but it would still be a surprise if Son started.
Son has featured prominently for Tottenham over the early part of the campaign and pre-season, and Nuno will surely want to protect him for league maters.
Tottenham have started the season excellently, having taken maximum points from their first two games, and they are due to face Watford at the weekend, where they will be expected to keep up their winning run.
