'Yard sale bargaining': Some Arsenal fans slam Edu for 'ridiculous' transfer update on maestro
Arsenal will reportedly lower the asking price for midfielder Matteo Guendouzi as talks with Marseille continue.
As reported by Le 10 Sport, the French giants are keen to sign the 22-year-old maestro this summer. However, they are not willing to meet Arsenal’s €20m (£17m) asking price. Marseille will only go as high as €12m (£10m).
According to Fabrizio Romano, Guendouzi is one of two Arsenal midfielders close to leaving the club. Granit Xhaka is on the verge of joining AS Roma, with the Swiss captain being one of the stars of Euro 2020.
Eddie Howe To Newcastle Is EMBARRASSING
As well as departures, new signings are expected at Arsenal in the coming days. As reported by the Guardian, the Gunners have reached an agreement with Benfica for left-back Nuno Tavares, whilst R.S.C. Anderlecht star Albert Sambi Lokonga is also close to joining.
Indeed, Arsenal seem keen to make plenty of signings this summer as well as gut the squad of players Mikel Arteta deems surplus to requirements.
Arsenal fans are not happy about Guendouzi
Yet some supporters on social media are not happy with Edu Gasper and the club over how they are dealing with Guendouzi.
Moreover, at 22, the midfielder is one of Arsenal’s youngest players and a name who could fetch a decent fee from a club. And fans are frustrated as Arsenal look likely to once again let a talented player walk for peanuts.
Here’s what some Arsenal fans had to say on Twitter about Guendouzi potentially leaving the club for as little as £10m…

Guendouzi spent last season with Hertha Berlin where the midfielder impressed with the Bundelisga side. Furthermore, the France U-21 captain aided the club to safety with a string of impressive performances in the final matches of the Germans season.
