Aston Villa picked up an impressive 3-0 win over Derby County yesterday, continuing their improvements under new boss Dean Smith.
Undoubtedly, the player receiving all the plaudits for Aston Villa is John McGinn. The midfielder put in a brilliant display for Aston Villa, leaving fans in no doubt over his impact since arriving at Villa Park.
However, another summer signing also deserved credit and, has surely earned a starting spot next time out.
Yannick Bolasie is yet to start a game for Aston Villa in the Championship, as he continues to rebuild his fitness. The Everton loanee has however had an impact from the bench and yesterday was no different.

He replaced Jonathan Kodjia on the left wing after 70 minutes. It took just four minutes for him to whip in a wicked cross, which McGinn obligingly headed in for Aston Villa’s first goal.
Bolasie, unlike Kodjia, is an out and out winger. His main aim is not to score goals, but to provide them. The Ivorian plays like a striker out wide, constantly coming inside and trying to do things himself.
Bolasie offers so much more as a wide-man, whilst Kodjia should be battling with Tammy Abraham for the striking role at Villa Park.
This should be Bolasie’s last Aston Villa cameo. After the international break, the DR Congo star should be a regular starter.
