Yannick Bolasie delivers instant Instagram reaction as Arsenal sign Lokonga

Albert Sambi Lokonga has completed a long-awaited move to Arsenal. The midfielder is said to have signed a long-term contract, widely reported as a five-year deal until 2026. Having caught the eye at Anderlecht, Arsenal have got Lokonga – and Yannick Bolasie has given an immediate response.

Lokonga, 21, has already clocked up a huge 78 appearances for Anderlecht in his short career. Under Vincent Kompany, he was excellent for the Belgian side last season. The versatile midfielder even earned a call-up to Roberto Martinez’s side, but is yet to win his first cap as of yet.

Fabrizio Romano claims a fee is around £15million up front with add-ons worth £4million. The Gunners have now finally brought in a midfielder, with Matteo Guendouzi leaving and a loan for Dani Ceballos coming to an end. Arsenal posted confirmation of a move on Instagram.

The Gunners are also likely to wave goodbye to more midfielders. Martin Odegaard is also unlikely to renew his Emirates stint, while Lucas Torreira is likely to go permanently. Mo Elneny is in the final year of his contract and Granit Xhaka is close to a move to Roma. Lokonga was needed.

But he is unlikely to be the only midfield signing Arsenal make this summer. Arsenal fan Bolasie, who himself is a free agent after leaving Everton this summer after the end of his contract – gave a seven-word verdict on Arsenal’s Instagram page.
