Aston Villa earned a late 2-1 win over Brighton on Saturday afternoon as summer signing Matty Targett scored in the 94th minute to finally overcome 10-man Brighton – and Yannick Bolasie has applauded one Villa star on Instagram.
Brighton had taken the lead through summer signing Adam Webster who climbed highest at the back post to head home. But the turning point came when Aaron Mooy inexplicably picked up a second yellow card for a foul on Jack Grealish.
Conor Hourihane had a goal disallowed before Grealish got on the scoresheet, tapping home after an excellent cross from Frederic Guilbert. Grealish then turned provider, before Targett lashed home an effort in the 94th minute.
Summer signing Nakamba played the entire 90 minutes in midfield, starring as Villa picked up a crucial three points. He posted on Instagram after the match, clearly delighted to have helped Villa finally overcome 10-man Brighton.
Nakamba, an £11million (Guardian) signing from Club Brugge in the summer, has impressed in the holding midfield role – starting Villa’s last five Premier League games – in which Dean Smith’s side have clocked up eight points.
Former Villa loanee Yannick Bolasie was one of those impressed by Nakamba, commenting on his Instagram post that Nakamba is putting the number 11 shirt to better use than the Sporting Lisbon star ever did.
