Michael Keane scored a second-half winner to down a brave Wolverhampton Wanderers side at Molineux and push Everton into a lofty fourth position in the Premier League – and both Yannick Bolasie and Tim Cahill have reacted.
Everton came into the match knowing that a win would see them climb into the Champions League slots and that is exactly what they did – with Alex Iwobi getting the Toffees off to the ideal start.
The ex-Arsenal man’s inch-perfect long ball was instantly returned to the Nigeria international by Lucas Digne, but with plenty to do, he swept a first-time effort into the bottom corner past Rui Patricio.
His neat finish gave Everton the perfect start, but they were instantly pulled back by Wolves maestro Ruben Neves. Young left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri created the goal, reaching the byline before putting it on a plate for Neves.
The scoreline remained the same for much of the match until the latter stages. A deep left-footed cross from Andre Gomes was headed into the back of the net by England defender Keane, who continues to impress under Ancelotti.
The win was a huge win for Everton and both Toffees icon Cahill and current Everton winger Bolasie reacted on Twitter.
