Yacine Brahimi could complete devastating front three alongside Miguel Almiron and Salomon Rondon at Newcastle

If Yacine Brahimi does not sign a contract extension with FC Porto, he could become one of the most in-demand players in Europe this summer.

The 29-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, which represents a bargain considering the hefty fee Porto were hoping for.

According to Zero Zero, Brahimi has a €50m release clause but he could be available on a free transfer this summer.

Newcastle have held a longstanding interest in the Porto winger with A Bola (via Sport Witness) reporting in early February that the Magpies remain interested.

Everton and West Ham are also in the hunt for the Algeria international but if Rafa Benitez could pull this deal off, it has the potential to be sensational business.

On a free transfer, Brahimi should not be out of Newcastle’s price range and he could be the missing link in attack.

Salomon Rondon’s physicality makes him the ideal target man centre-forward with Ayoze Perez and Miguel Almiron working around him.

Almiron is already showing his talent in the Premier League, while Perez’s form has picked up lately.

But Brahimi has impressed in Champions League football in the past and he could offer Newcastle a different dimension on the wing.

With Brahimi on one side, Almiron on the other wing and Rondon through the middle, Newcastle could have an enviable attack in the 2019/20 season.
