Chelsea have now completed the signing of Jorrel Hato in a £38m move from Ajax.

The Blues managed to beat several Premier League rivals to the Netherlands international, who has signed a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

TBR Football understand Arsenal and Liverpool tried to sign Hato – but the Dutchman only wanted a move to Chelsea.

Now, another transfer target for Chelsea in Xavi Simons has sent a message to Jorrel Hato after Chelsea announced the news.

Xavi Simons hails Jorrel Hato after Chelsea move

The RB Leipzig No.10 wrote “my boy” to his fellow countryman on Instagram along with a heart emoji after hearing about his switch to Chelsea.

Simons and Hato have previously played three games together for the Netherlands – winning one, drawing one and losing one.

Soon, the pair could add to that shared appearance tally quite substantially.

Chelsea want Xavi Simons – and the feeling is mutual

The Blues are in talks to sign the 22-year-old in addition to Hato.

TBR Football understand Chelsea have offered Christopher Nkunku to RB Leipzig as part of a deal to sign Simons, who is eager to make a move to west London this summer.

Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent for TBR Football – said: “Having landed Jorrel Hato, Chelsea are planning to bring in his compatriot Xavi Simons.

“I am told Chelsea are very excited by Simons and despite already having talents like Cole Palmer and Estevao, they are moving for him.

“As TBR Football revealed, Morgan Rogers would be Chelsea’s top target, but getting him out of Aston Villa has proven too difficult. That said, they firmly believe Simons to be another enormous talent.”

There is clearly already some chemistry between the RB Leipzig playmaker and Hato, which bodes well for Enzo Maresca if Chelsea can get this deal over the line.
