'Written in the stars': Some Liverpool fans revel as report suggests 42-goal target won't extend contract
Liverpool target Kylian Mbappe will reportedly not extend his contract with PSG for the time being.
With the attacker’s contract expiring in 2022, Mbappe could become a highly sought after free agent in 12 months time. As per the Marca report, Real Madrid also hold an interest in the French international.
Indeed, Mbappe has been linked with a move to Liverpool since establishing himself as one of the best players in world football.
The forward has gone from strength to strength since making the move to the Parisian club. Euro 2020, however, was Mbappe’s first blemish on his outstanding career.
The striker failed to score a single goal and missed the decisive penalty as France were eliminated by Switzerland via a shootout.
Mbappe’s performances at the Euros will hardly dampen his value and reputation in world football, though. Indeed, the French superstar will be eyed by every big club in Europe should he walk from PSG for free next summer.
And for Liverpool fans, they believe they have a chance in signing the 22-year-old given the continuous links between the Reds and Mbappe over the years.
Here’s what some Liverpool fans had to say on Twitter about Mbappe joining the club on Twitter…
